looking to run some in a Mac 10 ... will steel case do the trick? What's the best place to get it.

I got a few cases of that old US made 1943 steel-cased .45 auto. It was dirty as heck and HOT, it seemed. Blew out the extractor. It was probably the HOT rather than the steel which broke the extractor. Since then I havent shot it in my fancy Commander, but may give it a go in my Springer. Taking the stuff apart and downloading it may not be an option because of the glue crap used to seal the bullets to the case. This stuff was made for the old Greaseguns I suppose, or maybe even the few Thompsons that were around at the time.

I've run Wolf .45 in a M3A1 (Grease gun) and a Mac 10.
No problems.
I tried it in a S&W 625-2 and I had to knock it out of the cylinder.

Conclusion:
Sloppy chamber as in subgun good.
Precision chamber as in target gun bad.

Shot some in my Smith 22 (new 1917 lookalike) and it performed great, no extraction problems at all. Even reloaded some of the steel cases just to see if it could be done.

My Stemple eats it up, better than brass-cased.

A company called Gulf Coast Ammo (look in Shotgun News) has the best prices I have found.
