Losing desire to build PSG-1
I am not sure what to do. I was going to build a PSG-1 clone and started assembling parts years ago. Now, I am losing the desire any more. Compliance parts becoming scarce and I don’t think you could build a PSG-1 and have the right count for 922r. Adams site has most of the original parts. I had 4 PSG-1 hand guards on back order for years through black-market parts but they are no longer making the PSG-1 hand guards nor would they rent their dies. HK Floor plates and followers are rarer than the trigger grouping. The charging handle would work for a compliant part, but no one makes a PSG style one. I know I am close but not sure what to do. What do ya think?

I was bitten by the same HK bug and while I lose interest it always comes back. You could augment your US parts count by using the Magpul stock and getting a hold of a Thermold mag. As long as you are not installing a muzzle device you only need six US parts.
It is an expensive project but what else are you going to do with your money and free time, fish? If so your gonna need better tackle. One caution I would make is that you should have someone with a good reputation build the rifle. Several of these builders are regulars on the Files and a lot a feed back from previous customers is available. |

PTR just sent me an email saying they have US triggers again.
Pretty sure they have trigger boxes and sears too. Maybe even hammers.

I think its an expensive toy with little practical value. I've built a few, and my buddy has a real one he gets all wet and sticky over, but you can get a lot more in a .308 "sniper" for a lot less hasslel if you step out of the HK box.
Dress it up in a pink tutu and it still is unlikely to out-shoot a $500 Savage 110 Tactical

yeah, that was funny.
i just finished a custom .308 in an AICS 2.0 for less than the cost of the PSG trigger pack and buttstock. maybe i will just scrap the project and use the money to build my iranian G3. Gunplumber have you built off of a G3 flat? |
