How to get info on my FAL.

I bought this FAl a couple of years ago and lost the build sheet that came with the rifle. All i remember is that it;s an Imbel. I plan to sell it and would like to have some info when I post it. Is there anything the serial number will give me?

Looks like a type I lower, type III upper, 16" bipod cut barrel with a DSA muzzle brake, para rear site, DSA top cover, ergo grip, semi auto selector and the pivot pin is in backwards.

Worth 250-300. I'll be nice and give you 350, but you pay shipping.

Whatever numbers are stamped into the bolt, carrier, barrel, lower are completely meaningless except to let you know approximately where in the production run your original rifle was made. That original receiver has been destroyed. In its place you have a semi-automatic receiver that is a Type III and likely an IMBEL but also possibly a Century or Hesse or Entreprise. Again the serial number will only tell you approximately when the receiver was made, but will speak nothing about when the parts kit was assembled onto that receiver. The receiver number is the only "serial number" that officially identifies your rifle.

Interesting how you have a Type I lower but a horizontal latch lever, and a serial on the upper left side.

While your pivot pin is reversed, that too is meaningless with your particular style of pin since the male end does not protrude from the female, so you have no danger of scraped knuckles. Most of my StG pins are the same as yours.

You could have gotten extra credit for your photo if you'd included toes, and shot on concrete.
