Butler Creek Side Folder
Anyone have experience with the Butler Creek side folder, thinking of one for my Mossberg 500 - but with 2 back surgeries need to be careful of any added recoil. Understand the top folders seem to be not good in this area. Factory synthetic stock works fine, but would like the advantage of a shorter package.
Thanks for any comments.

Have you thought about a Knoxx folder I have collapsible M4 style on my winchester and love it, the recoil reduction is amazing. go to their website, just type in Knoxx and look for Knoxx a blackhawk company they have videos showing what they can do. I believe they are $116 + shipping worth every penny to me.

Thanks, I have not looked at the Knox, familiar with their recoil reduction but just passed me by... Appreciate it,

I own one of these and it makes all of the difference in the world for slugs (My preference).
I can go to the range and shoot alot more with this stock. It is harder to get down on the stock if you are in shortest position, I need mine in the last or longest position. (another reason I went with this is because I can adjust it to fit me). You will get less cheek slap if you have the proper length of pull, but yes, you will get whacked a bit more. They are worth the money if recoil is an issue. I think you can buy something to put on that type of stock to lessen cheek slap but I'm not sure what fits a Knoxx stock. Recoil with these stocks feels more like a hard push to the shoulder rather than a sharp blow of a normal traditional stock. You really have to try it and feel it for yourself. good luck. |

I have Pistol Grip folder for my 870 and took it off as it accented recoil compared to regular stock - I tried a top folder factory stock and don't recommend those unless you have a dentist who works cheap.
