With my 60's T series it did the same . Now I stay with Winchester white box from Wallys and it runs like a watch.

Hey deerollman !

I would suggest that you google Cylinder & Slide, they are very good HP gunsmiths from what I've read and heard.

They might have a trick or two up their sleeve.

Winchester White Box FMJ, and Wolff 20# springs in mine.. runs nice..
although many would recommend the 18.5 #

Midway and others sell a 5 spring pack 22,20,18.5, 17 and 16 are in it..

i would recommend trying a new 18.5# spring, i tried the 20#with a buffer and it would not reliably function with standard winchester ammo or wolf, so i installed the 18.5 and ditched the buffer and it works great, i keep the 20 for +P ammo but haven't shot any +P yet. the 9mm doesn't generate nearly the recoil of the 45. i use the heavier spring and buffer with the 1911 and it just asks for more.

Might be that the recoil-spring is too heavy for that specific ammo. Cycle the ammo manually through the pistol first - if it extracts and ejects reliably by hand, then you've largely excluded those two variables from the equation.

Remington 9mm is known to be a weaker load than Winchester Value Pack, and will cause run-on in some SMGs. That said, Remington 9mm will function fine in all three of my BHPs, and my two FEG HP clones. Both clones needed extractor work, one a spring and the other needed burrs polished in the extractor slot.

BHPs will not eject properly if they don't extract properly. Check the extractor for spring force, and I'd go so far as to order a new extractor spring, assuming it's a newer BHP with external extractor. While the extractor's out, reinstall it without the spring, and ensure that it pivots freely in its slot without sticking or binding on a burr. If there's a catch, get a flat needle file and hit the burr in the slot, or on the extractor itself.

If it's an older BHP with internal extractor, which is like that of the 1911 only smaller, it is tuned the same way as a 1911 extractor.

HTH, and best of luck,

Noah
