Thumbs up 10/22 mag pouches

for a while now i've been looking for a good pouch to keep 10/22 mags in, just to keep them from clanking together in a larger bag-o-mags really.
picked up a couple at the Denver gunshow last weekend that fit the bill nicely.
gent i bought them from didn't know what they were intended for. no marks other than on the fastex buckles. he said they were not military.
i'd guess them for MP5?
anyway at $5ea i took the only 2 he had & wished he had a few more. it's like a custom fit.....

FALs&45s.
Here's a picture of a good leather 10/22 hi cap magazine holster that I have had for a while. It's still new in the original wrapper. Has a belt loop on the back and off hand, I don't recall who the manufacturer is. If you have any serious interest, I'll dig it out and shoot a price to you. This was made ONLY for the Ruger 10/22 high capacity mags (25, 30 and 50 rounders). No interest in it - no big deal!

i was looking for something to roll a bunch of mags in; sorta bandolier-style, or pouch-style like the race-gun guys have for a bunch of pistol mags. actually if the pouches i found had 5 or 6 slots they'd be about perfect for my want. 4 or 5 of those & i'd be set.

but that leather unit does look swell Blaster. no rush but yes i'd probably be interested in that.....makes me really want to put together a vintage-y looking rig.

[OT] maybe for my nephew! seems FINALLY someone in the family shares my enthusiasm for this stuff. i took this boy and his brother to shoot one other time; 10/22 & a S&W 41. had him with me Saturday so i asked if he wanted to go shoot.

him: "can we shoot Aunt Julie's little gun?!?"
me

the pics suck, i know, but as a guy with no kids or plans for them, this was priceless to me......

just to have hope that somebody dear to me may find my stuff dear to them one day when i can't use it anymore.............

"Aunt Julie's little gun" (Smith 642-2 w/3-finger CT grip .38SPL+P) he's only leaning back that way because this was just posed so i didn't bother to correct him.

we used some nice soft 38 wadcutters

wadcutters as well in the 19-5

here's what we took to the bunker this time

The youngsters shooting is probably better than my meger attempt to hit the center of the target.
Since you sounded kinda interested, when I have a good opportunity, I'll dig out that little leather, large capy magazine holster and tell you a little more about it. It is not a cheap/flimsy little thing but quite heavy duty!

I've found that almost anything that holds the 30-ish round 9mm subgun mags works with 10/22 hicap mags.

Mainly use the cheap UZI pouches for mine.

Good post, OP.

i wondered about many subgun type pouches (thinking sterling) but never had the mags & pouches at the same time. in my mind's eye the 10/22 mags are really curved i guess. so i bought the pictured item and went & found someone w/ a 10/22 mag to verify the fit, then went back for the other one he had. i'll be looking for more of these.

those may be far greater quality, but it'd be far greater than i need. i'm just trying to keep the mags easy to grab and not being scratched up is all & i have too many mags to stash - $230 in pouches? lol
i want more of those $5 cheapies!

I store my spares in ziplock bags in rubbermaid bins.

How many 10/22 mags do ya really need to haul out to the range?

enough to shoot up a brick w/o the tedium of reloading??
same reason i used to take 36 loaded FAL mags out back when this body could afford such things. shooting spots aren't very convenient in my area and i like to shoot when i go shooting.

if YMV, that's fine with me. i'm not suggesting anything to anyone, just commenting on what i want and have found.

Are those rolls of rugpad your nephew is shooting at? How does that work out?

we don't shoot the rolls on the left, they're rayon filter media.
the bales we're shooting are compressed waste paper. we limit them to low energy / pistol rounds and they hold up into multiple thousands.
