FAL inch pattern aperture size
I have an inch pattern FAL with a .100 inch aperture rear site. I need something closer to the .0595 of the NM M-1 Garand for load development and long range shooting. Does anyone know the size of the aperture of the C1 Canadian rotary rear site or the Hythe? I have a spare rear site assy I could
drill out and tap for a small hooded aperture. If anyone has done this, I would like their help. DSA makes a metric rear site stalk with an aperture for about $25 which I could take the hood off of and put it on my spare assy if that is possible. Yeah, that is the hummer all right. DSA says it will not fit my inch pattern Lower,
but that this the type hood I am looking for. Here is their part for $25 that I could take the hood off of..... http://www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=110E |

OK, Mosin Guy, thanks for helping me out here..let me see if I can get this straight....I think what you are saying is that whoever at DSA answered my e-mail and said that your original recommended rear sight assy would not fit on my inch pattern gun is wrong. The Israeli /L1A1 hooded rear sight assy will indeed work on my inch pattern gun.
In fact, I think you are saying that all I really need is the staff, in your second link, and presumably the button that goes in it and the pin. Is that correct? I appreciate your help! chris Last edited by Coyote Chris; April 11, 2008 at 00:46. |

The aperture size of an L1A1 is .100 and the aperture size on a metric, including an Izzy, is .052. Because of my eyesight I require a larger aperture and drill the aperture to .104.
