Anyone ID this 7.62 ammo from J&G Sales in AZ?

I bought some of this ammo back in '95 and it seems to have quite a history behind it. The ammo came in a 1400 rnd wooden crate that was stencilled as belonging to Uganda. On the inside of the crate was a large metal tin can with the opening in the middle that all the ammo fit thru, they were on links inside triangular shaped cardboard boxes. On the boxes it stated that the rounds were boxer primed which I thought was unusual. The rounds had a headstamp of SF and the # 73, looking at an empty brass case there is also another little circular stamp but is too small to tell what it is. The bullet was a very pale copper color that bordered on silver with a black seal between bullet and case. Shooting this ammo back then in my M1A would knock bowling pins all over the place and send 2 liter bottles skyward 10-15 feet. I have a friend who still has some of this ammo and will not shoot it in his HK 91, I'm wondering if it would be SAFE to shoot in my Polytech M1A, FAL, or Cetme? If anyone knows more about this ammo I'd enjoy hearing about it. I have an empty wooden crate for this ammo and think I can find an empty triangular box around if you need to know any other writing on them. Would a buffer make it possible to shoot this ammo safely on a long term basis without ruining the gun? For those wondering...this ammo would practically fly towards the magnet when one was placed close to it. Thanks to anyone with info on this ammo or has shot it in the past!

French milsurp, made by Giat. Sounds like MG ammo, hotter than standard.

The beauty of a FAL! Turn the gas down all the way and work up until it cycles properly, note that position for that particular ammo, and BLAST AWAY!!!

..Of course Hambone means turn the "numbers" UP, not down, ...the gases exhaust the most at 7. ...Not using them to work the action.
