Is this ammo OK for plinking with FALs? I have read the sticky on Wolf. Hard to ignore the price difference between Barnaul vs. brass surplus and new ammo, but not if it is a significant KB risk, etc. Thanks.

Very Light powder charge in most of the Russian stuff ... you'll most likely encounter problems with shell ejaculation ... probably wont cycle at all ...

I ran about 600 rds of Bernaul through my M4 (poodle shooter) with no problems, even accuracy was good. I was considering .308 for my FAL's so I checked this site. Lots of negetive feedback on Wolf, cant find much on Bernaul. Price is better than most.

The steel-cased stuff from Barnaul is also sold under the "Monarch" brand that Academy carries. Run a search on Monarch and you'll find more info. I've run a dozen or so boxes thru FALs and a DPMS 308 with no issues other than lack of accuracy and a failure to fire on one round. The primer was well-dimpled, but I got the dreaded "click" instead of a "bang". The stuff ejaculates fine for me.

I have shot a couple hundred rounds in my AK and AR. Bought 1000 rounds each of 7.62x39 and 5.56 Silver Bear awhile back. Did not chrono either but it feeds reliability and does not to be as dirty as Wolf (in AR's).

I tried 100 rounds of Silver Bear .308 and it too was flawless; when I decided it was worth it to buy more, Aim was sold out

put about 200 rnds of barnaul through my fal carbine last weekend,no problem of any kind. I have not tried wolf .308, but i have burned up over a hundred pounds of 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 wolf, and never had a problem.
