Help IDing headstamp
I just rcvd some new ammo and would like to ID it.
The headstamp says H O 7.62 They are in 20rnd cardboard boxes. The box has the NATO crossed circle but the rounds do not. Any ideas. |

I can only guess they may be Greek (Hellenic, as in HXP .303). This is a swag. Any other info available on the box?

Box just says
20 ROUND 7.62 X 51mm nato stamp F78.41 Someone has placed an additional piece of paper over that reading "20 Rounds 308 WIN" They are from J&G Sales and are supposed to be Portuguese, but all the Portugues stuff I've seen is in 200rnd battle packs and stamped FNM Thanks again [This message has been edited by Grant (edited March 02, 2001).] |

See my post from from earlier this week. Also your HO headstamp is probably HD. This and H1 ammo is generally sold as Portugues, but is probably from Singapore. I shot a box again today and it is HOT. It cycles my FAL at gas setting 7 (all the way open). I should get my Chrony any day...Can't wait to see how fast this and other stuff is. Will post results Ray
