Imbel barrel install on century L1A1 imbel rec

I mocked up a barrel to a Century L1A1 receiver made by imbel. The barrel bottomed out on the inside of the receiver. Do I need install a timing washer since the receiver was previously built on as an inch rifle?

No, the inch barrel is cut for the breeching washer. You have something else going on. Pictures would help.

Umm, yes.

Hmm. Maybe I misunderstood the question. If you have an Imbel inch cut receiver and a stock Imbel barrel you should not have to use a breeching washer. If the barrel is bottoming out and the front sight is at 9:00 you would have to modify the breech face of the barrel. If the front sight is past 12:00 then you would need a timing washer or you would have to cut the barrel for a breeching washer.

You will most likely need to remove a C-hair of material from the barrel face. I had to do it a few times. It always seem like it is the Imbel on Imbel builds for which I have had to do this fitting.

Here is one of my threads where this was identified, discussed, and fixed.......

Thanks for the all the input. I got a little ahead of myself when I mocked everything up I swore I had a gap between the shoulder and receiver. I didn’t, I rechecked and a little bit of material needs to be removed from the barrel shoulder.
