Hand load recipies for FAL's
I learned a while back tha a good load for the M1A Was 41.5grs of 4895 with a 168gr Sierra HPBT Matchking bullet. this is pretty much the standard accuracy load for the M1A.
What is a good place to start a load for the FAL? I loaded up twenty rds of 42.5grs BL-C(2) with a 168gr Hornady BTHP in n BHA Match case and a Federal 210M lighting it. This load should run around 2700fps. If I can find time I'll go to the range tomorrow and check them out. ------------------ M-14 OUT

We're not too far apart.
I use 42gr IMR4895 with 147gr FMJBT. Win primers and LC brass. I call it my version of MilSpec hard ball. This load shoots well in most of my FALs. On a DSA Medium Contour, 41gr of IMR4895 behind a 168gr Sierra BTHP Match is a good accuracy round (.5-.75"@100-meters). CCI primer, Rem Brass. Chrono's at 2542fps. On a Rem-700 .308 26" HB, I use 42grs of N140 behind a 168gr Sierra Match. Chrono's at 2520fps. Great Accuracy. Same 700 but with 175gr Sierra BTHP Match, I use 42.2gr of R15. Chrono's at 2470fps. Great Accuracy, 800-meter+ load. M1A SuperMatch, 43gr N140 behind a 168gr Sierra Match. Great Accuracy(.5"@100-meters, 1.25"@200-meters). Win brass, CCI primer. Chrono's at 2584fps. That's all for now.
