Need source for .308 bullets
Need a source for 150 gr. .308 bullets at a reasonable price- Midway has them for $149.95 per thousand- is this the going price?
Thanks Rick |

Holy hell I hope not, I'd tried Pat's reloading, i think he still gets pulled .308 for $80ish/1000.

I wrote a negative comment about these folks recently since I couldn't reach them after my package was a bit overdue. I just received my order this past week. The lady who called me just before delivery was apologetic and polite. I ordered 1000 new 5.56 bullets and received them in good order for around $95 shipped. According to the note enclosed with the package was that the owner died and therefore they were behind and probably extremely covered up with business and personal obligations, never mind the grieving. I hope that they will continue on. We do need more outlets for surplus reloading components and they had a good reputation. The web site is not up to date but maybe they can help with better info over the phone.

The owner of RVOW died more than TWO YEARS AGO. I guess they had a lot of catching up to do...

You might be able to get it for about $10 cheaper, but probably not more than that.

I just received my order placed in late January for 150 GR pulled 30-06 bullets, M1 Carbine bullets and 45 ACP Match brass.
Everything looks good and they told me when I placed my order that they were 6 - 8 weeks behind. I checked their website this week to see if they had any 308 bullets yet and it looks like they are offering some reswaged iron curtain bullets. Has anyone tried any of these? Reasonably priced 308 bullets are hard to find! racer |

$124.00/1000 at Wideners. I'm not sure that's a great price, but it is a good one these days. These are M80 spec. bullets, new-not pulled.

I just got 500 from Wideners. They seem to be pretty uniform and have the the true M-80 style cannalure not the dimple variety common on commercial stock.
Nice and bright. |

Slick,
That is the going rate for the Hornady FMJBT 150s. These are VERY good bullets, if you are looking for accuracy. These actually out-perform the Sierra 168 match bullets in four of my .30 caliber rifles. If you are just doing short-range "blasting", or some other type of coarse shooting, you will find the pull-downs from other sources to be more economical. Midway runs the Hornadys on sale from time to time. I got a couple thou back around December, when they were something like $115. Probably won't be at that price again, but keep an eye out for a sale, if price is a big factor. Even at regular price, they are the best bullet for the money that I know of right now. |
