Whats it worth?? Izzy Guys...gun show find
Picked all of this up at the local gunshow yesterday and just got it cleaned up a bit. I usually don't go to the local show since I don't really get into paintballs and knick knacks!! I guess every now and then you get a good find, maybe it was just because it was my birthday. It is a Izzy HB dated 71 that appears to be in NOS condition with chrome bore and chamber and does not look like it has ever been mounted on a receiver. The barrel still has the original white lettering on the gas block and on the 7.62 markings. It came with the handguards, handguard retaining ring, buttstock, complete buttplate assembly, carry handle, and bipod assembly.
What do you guys estimate its value at? I guess I better start collecting the rest of the stuff and start working on building a HB. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice find. Be prepared to shell out a lot of $$$ getting everthing else together though, Izzy parts are expensive when you buy them piece by piece. First thing you need is one of TransAms Izzy lowers. But seriously, buying all the stuff seperate like the sights, mag catch, hinge pin, etc. will nickel and dime you to death.
Oh, Gunthings has a good deal on the forward assist carrier and charging handle right now too, I would grab one of those while you can. MD

I knew it would nickel and dime but i couldn't pass up the deal on a brand new heavy barrel. I am hoping that the deal I got on the parts from the gun show will offset the nickel and diming from the rest of the parts. Half the fun will be finding the rest of the parts.

Gunthings is probably your first stop. You might check with gunpartsguy too, but last I time did he did not have a lot of Izzy stuff. DSA might have a few things you can use, like the gas piston. One thing that is really hard on a HB is making the US parts count. I was lucky enough to find one of the old Tapco US made carriers and charging handles, which gave me two more US parts, so I ended up with receiver, pistol grip, HTS, and carrier and charging handle. You can always use US floorplates too if you have to, so you could do it with a DSA receiver, US PG and HTS, DSA gas piston and US floorplate.

Thanks for the input guys. The list is now growing. Hopefully I will be able to find some stuff at the bigger gun show in Indy next weekend.

Good Find on a new Makleon Model C front end! You got to complete it right. Even though it may nickle and dime you, I bet you could still end up with a really nice essentially new Israeli Makleon FAL kit at less than the going price for a complete "like-new" kit. Izzy kits are out there, but "new" ones are few.

I'd value it a bit higher than Vince did, I'd say $500-$600 in that condition.
You should be able to find a lower easily enough. Search the Marketplace for TRANSAM79's ad. That will get you the proper lower reciever. Gunthings.com probably has the proper rear sight and selector. You have the stock. The other picaune Izzy-specific parts you can use metric for now and replace with Izzy at will.

The word "Mark" is merely my hasty dyxlesic typing when I forgot how to spell Makleon. Sorry. |

I know they are getting expensive to build this way but I am hoping it doesn't run me that much. I am optimistic at the moment that with what I paid for these I can keep it under 1K. Not sure if I can but I am going to try like heck to do it.
