Thanks guys.
The kris I picked up from a somewhat reliable source in Ubud, Bali. I was told it is Javanese from about 1750. |

Nice collection. Is that an Al Mar fixed blade next to the Chris Reeve?

The "Chris Reeve" is a Taiwanese copy.
The Al Mar is - an Al Mar. I picked it up at a militaria show in Tokyo. The guy had a stack of them going for 7000 Yen each (about $75 at the time). I offered him 13,000 Yen for two and he agreed. I should have bought the whole stack. |

Nice Al Mar, I have the same one, in both sizes
Also have another with the same blade except with the laminated wood handle and no saw teeth. It was a gift from Bob Brown of SOF and is a pre-production #007 Al was a great friend of Bob's and before he passed on, most all his pre-production knives with number 007 were given to Bob for his collection. Cheers, YV |
