You wouldn't be referring to the .224BOZ would you. It has a muzzle velocity of around 2000fps from a 6.5" barrel modified Delta Elite.

As far as I have seen, it's a round designed for AP capabilities, and then to "tumble", thereby limiting penetration into soft targets, ie US CIVIES. Apparently they are prohibited for sale to non-LEOs, and all "five-seven" accessories are too. Another case where the bad-ass alphabet guys can have anything they want, and we law-abiding citizens get stuck with the C&R stuff...

5.7x28mm is the 'new' FN cartridge for the P90 SMG and the FiveseveN pistol. The pistol takes a 20 round mag.
It is flat shooting out to 150m, and will penetrate most body armor and PASGT helmets out to that range. Out to 80m or so, it has pretty devastating wound ballistics. Past that, it's wound creation ability rapidly deteriorates. Past 300m, it resembles a .22lr. 1gewehr

1gewehr, You mean type 3/4 vests, or just flak stuff? Rifle plates? At least I know my 7.62x51 and 8x57 shoot much flatter PAST 150m, and they'll keep hitting hard for a long range too...

Before I quit, my old department had equipped the SRT with P90s and was waiting on the pistol. The concept is interesting, but I'm not up to trusting a 31gr projectile just yet.
The guns are VERY accurate (especially the eval pistols we had). No recoil, so you could stack hits all day long. The bullet is aluminum-cored with a hardened penetrator. It will cut through body armour at close range, but PASGT tended to survive at around the 150M mark. Muzzle energy is about the same as a 9mm, and the 'tumbling effect' is about as reliable as a good hollowpoint opening. Nasty in Gel, but didn't make the block 'jump' like my 45acp. I admit my bias, but have to admit that it seems to be a pretty decent round. Just don't think it is a 'magic' bullet...it ain't what the hype makes it, but it does work.
