I wonder what the US Army supplying the Iraqi Army and security forces will do to the price / availibility of .223/5.56x45 - Wait, I think I know.
I remember when 7.62x39 was almost impossible to findand the local sporting goods chain was limiting purchases to 10 boxes. I wonder how long until .223 is the flavor of the month(s). 7.62 |

Oh, and I'll just bet that 7.62 goes down in price as soon as 5.56 becomes the new darling...

mdlmkr 7.62 posted--
I wonder how long until .223 is the flavor of the month(s). It already is. Review the reloading sites and see how much of the components are out of stock. The prices of the parts are also climbing. Get it while you can get it. It was not too long ago I was buying the stuff at $130k delivered. ($.13 each) Now we have a post celebrating $.34.

My local gunstore bought in the PMC cans like that, opened them, put the ammo on the shelf for regular price, and is now offering the cans for sale for $11.95 each (empty) as "Commemorative cans"...

At least they will sell to you guys, those of us in GA, AL, and TN are unworthy of being their customers.

Isn't PMC out of business? I heard they went belly up in Dec. 2006. Kinda made me sad to hear it because my Marlin 1894 .44 mag carbine shoots their j.f.p. ammo extremely well. Good thing I bought 6 boxes of it from Cheaper Than Dirt before it wasn't available anymore. 300 shells should last me a long time because I only use the gun for deer drives. Whitetails don't stand a chance!

He came back and told me that the ad was wrong and that they were supposed to be 20rd boxes, not 40 rd and he'd give me a raincheck for that. I pointed out that the 20rd boxes were on the shelf and were marked $9.99 so why would I want a raincheck for $12.99???? Has anyone bought the Remington ammo in a 40rd box for the $12.99 price??? 7.62 |
