Don't know about the .45, but I've shot thousands of rounds of Wolf 5.56 in my SAR 3 and my AR. I've never had a FTF, and I find it surprisingly clean. As long as you're not rapid/full auto firing hundreds of rounds at a time, it'll be fine in an AR. The SAR 3 eats this stuff for breakfast hehehe. Wolf 5.56 is nice and cheap, too.

That's the good news...the bad news is that it's not particularly accurate. Best I can do with the AR is about 6" groups at 100 yards. By comparison, the same rifle will do 2 1/2" groups with South African surplus ammo...but the SA is hideously dirty compared to the Wolf.

If you're just plinking, and want some good cheap ammo to sling downrange, by all means use the Wolf.

I don't want to shoot steel cased ammo through my guns, maybe if I had some old beater I would.

fenian15 says he's shot thousands of rounds. I personally haven't shot any but I have heard lots of bad stuff about Wolf Ammo.

Been fine in my SKS and the few AK's I've ran it in. It's the same russian I used to get in the plain white boxes that said "for hunting use" or something like that, just packaged in a more consumer opriented fashion I think.

FYI, the steel case is for the SKS and AK, the extraction on those is a little on the violent side and can rip brass apart....

I shoot Wolf 9mm, 5.56, and 7.62x39 adn have had no problems. Plenty of guys have complained about cases sticking in the chambers of their AR's from the laquer which is painted on at the factory. Personally, I don't leave rounds in the chamber of a hot rifle, which is how the laquer softens up and sticks to the chamber walls.

Thousands of rounds of Wolf out and no problems to report. Spent a 4 day weekend at Front Sight with my Glock and 600 rounds of Wolf 9mm without a single failure. I got laughed at when I went to the GSSF match with Wolf, but I witnessed several other failures with so-called 'good' ammo and had none myself.

I have a Bushmaster M17S bullpup which I took to the range. After putting 250 rounds of brass cased ammo through it without problem, somebody asked to try my rifle. I told them if they supplied ammo, to go ahead as I was out. They put Wolf into the rifle and it jammed up instantly. It's not necessary to leave it in a hot rifle.

Have shot several hundred rounds of the .223 in an SAR-3 and it functioned 100%. Accuracy is acceptable for this gun, sights, and my eyes. I do not use it in anything but the SAR-3. As a matter of fact I have not used any brass cased ammo in SAR either.

I started a thread not too long ago about a bad experience with Wolf .45 ACP.

I had a round that failed to chamber and jammed the slide on my Para P13 about 1/8 inch out of battery. Slide wouldn't go forward and wouldn't retract. The gun started out nice and clean. The jam happened about 40 rounds into a 50-round box. I was shooting at a nice even pace so heat should not have been a problem.

Had to place the front edge of the slide on a piece of wood and smack the grip with the palm of my hand to get the ^&*() slide to retract.

Have used 1000 rnds Wolf thru the SKS and found it cheap (8 cents/rnd), consistent, pretty accurate, but dirty as hell and stinky. I shoot alot of it off hand for practice out of the SKS and I am glad to be able to shoot a .30 cal round out of a decent rifle for an affordable price. The HP and FMJ seem to shoot about the same. The only drawback is that the rifle needs a good scrubbing after a session. But that is easy on the SKS.

Just FYI, Bushmaster does not recommend steel cased ammo for their rifles (prolly for any alum rec) as it is hard on the rifle and will wear it out prematurely. Thats what they told me.

Steel cases cause some problems, Russian guns are designed to use steel, U.S. weapons are designed to use brass.

I have fired 1,000's and 1,000's of Wolf in 9mm and 7.62x39. Am very pleased with it. In fact, I used it for my recent requalification for my Concealed Carry Lisence in my Colt, Series 70, 1911. No problems and very reasonable. Try a few hundred rounds and decide for yourself.

I have not had any problems with Wolf.I have only shot the 5.56 throuhg my Bushy M4.I shot rapid fire to the point the front end of the weapon was smoking through the hand guards real bad,the rifle never failed!
I have not heard too many bad reports when the Bushy and Colt were used.I like it and will buy more.
