WTK: .30 M1 and .30 M2 bullets?

What are/were these? 30-06 and .308 bullets, respectively?

Per TM 43-0001-27:

Cartridge (not bullet) M1: .30 caliber Tracer used in M1 Garand, M1919, yadayada. All .30-06 applications.

Cartridge M2: .30 AP used in (you guessed it) .30-06 applications.

Cartridge M2, Ball, also used as above.

Most 7.62 Ball is M80. YMMV, of course.
