Recoil Spring installation (inner vs. outer: which way?)

While searching for a reason why my new StG-58C would not cycle, I took the stock off to search for a possible culprit. There, I discovered a tremendous amount sandblasting grit on the paired recoil springs. Apparently, little or no effort had been made to wash residual sandblasting grit from the internal stock cavity which houses the recoil springs tube. The only way to clean the springs and plunger thoroughly was to pull the springs off the plunger. Now it is time to reinstall the springs.

Here's my question. Do the springs go on with the coils running the same direction, or should the coils oppose each other? Or does it matter?

on the example I'm looking at now, the outer spring copils clockwise, the inner spring counterclockwise. flipping the inner spring over won't make it coil the opposite direction, so it should not matter. Funny the schematic I'm looking at show them both clockwise. I think that way they would have a greater chance of slipping inside each other, causing binding.

The para two inner springs are both coiled counterclockwise and the outer clockwise.
