7mm-08 or 243 FAL
I've called, emailed and written a letter. Yet I have only once been able to speak to Ernie at Badger Barrels regarding the production of a 7mm-08 or .243 Win. FAL. Why Badger? Until recently, not even DS Arms advertised the fact that one of the country's (and therefore, the world's) best barrel makers -- Badger, of Wisconsin -- was building its barrels. That always struck me as somewhat strange. Anyway ....
Ernie was talkative (very, and VERY informative on the process), but, alas, not overly committed to firing up a special production. I have tried it alone, and now I want to see if there is any interest out there among my fellow FALphiles fo the production of some barrels in 7mm-08, which has the same chamber pressure as the lovable (but boring) .308 Win. What about it boys and girls? Anyone want to help me start this movement? [ July 22, 2001: Message edited by: gary.jeter ]

You forgot that not only is .308 lovable and boring it's accurate, powerful and inexpensive (for now).
