WTT My G3 for your STG58

I have a G3 with a cast receiver (with integral Picatinny rail). This rifle comes with 20 - 20 round magazines and a sling.

I am looking for a matching number STG58 kit (unbuilt) with receiver or a built STG58. This is the model I want:

I'll post a photo as soon as I can.

I'd like to sell it outright so I can buy an STG. Is $1100 too much?

I'll include the bayonet mount, bayonet and 20 more - 20 round mags (40 total).

What manufacturer is your G3? Are the mags alloy or steel? Giving a bit more detailed info might help you sell your rifle. Just a thought.

Okay! I got my camera working!

This rifle is a Fedeal Arms FA91. The magazines are all alloy and most are still in the original, unopened wrappers.

Other side.

You can see one of the wrapped magazines under the rifle in this photo. I had to use something to keep it from scratching the table!

Just some info, as you were asking about the price. The FA91 sells for around the 5-600 dollar range, with new alloy magazines going for 4-5 bucks each.

I shot him a PM with some comparative pricing information last night. I don't think he is being realistic at all about the value of his rifle. Oh well, not my problem.

Thank you for your input.

I have seen this very same rifle for sale at several gun shops for $1300. Mags are no longer $1. Someone may like it and want it at that price or maybe make me an offer. While it is only cast and not sheet metal, it is a nice, good shooting rifle. I am in no really rush to sell it so if someone comes along, good. If not, that's good too.

I don't mean to be rude or to rain on your parade, but that G3 has one of the cast recievers. There is nothing really wrong with them, but they are not really a desirable rifle for several reasons....they are just not nearly as desirable as a G3 with a good stamped receiver like a PTR91. You are wanting $1100 and a PTR91 is less than that, and is a much nicer rifle. The mags are cheap, not too long ago you could buy 50 for $50 from Tapco. On top of that, a primo Stg58 is one of the nicest of the common FAL variants and the most expensive, next to a Israeli.
I would guess the sale price of your cast G3 at more like $600. A nice Stg58 can sell for $1200 pretty easy. You should probably offer to kick in some cash or lower your sights on the grade of FAL you want.
I am not looking to buy or trade with you, just giving you a heads up. Hope this helps.

So much for private in private messaging.

If my asking price is too high and you are interested, make an offer. Otherwise, why screw with me and my sale? Do you all stand around in stores and tell buyers that the prices are too high and you once saw it elsewhere for less?

Don't ask questions you don't want answered.

Nice looking rifle BTW.

Let me just jump in here and clarify two points.

1. Items posted in the marketplace must be listed for a specific price. No "how much can I get for this" posts here. If you want to ask that question, post it in the General Firearms Discussion forum. People pay to advertise in this forum, and they don't want to have their paid ads stepped on by people contemplating their navel.

2. I forgot what the other thing was I was going to say.
