STG58 history?

Another newbie needs to know if there is a way to trace the history of his STG58 by the serial number. What would be included? Bought this rifle on G.B. and it was complete, numbers matching. Don't know if it's pre-ban, compliant or anything else. Where do I start? Thanks, kc0bum

May I suggest that you post pictures and a detailed descripton of the rifle here? I think that would give you the results/info you are looking for.
