G-1 Stock Refinish
Here are some pictures of a G-1 stock i'm refinishing. Original, sanded, 3 coats med. walnut stain. Boiled linseed oil 2 coats so far.

Very Nice! I am always amazed with some of the Gems that are uncovered from what appears to be lost cause wood.

Any tips for repeating your work? I'm starting with about what you did. Did you put the stock in dishwasher or anything special to degrease it first? Mine appears to already have most the grease cleaned off by DSA but I want it right the first time I refinish. Did you do anything to remove dings? Like steam, etc? Use any filler?

Thanks for the info. I'm not looking for the perfectly refinished stock. I like the used look that gives it character. I prefer the results you have achieved and commend your taste and talent. I hope mine turns out as good.

Looking at alla these beautiful stocks that you guys are getting with your G1 kits is bringing me down. I ordered 3 kits,...except for one nice pistol grip, all of the furniture sucked.
