Almost bought an Egyptian SAFN (FN-49) back in the late '80s....only about $150 if I recall. Never should have passed on it.
As a side note, I've seen people cut up surplus BAR 20 rnd. mags and successfully install them into FN-49s, with no mods to the rifle. Just need to re-use the mag. follower from the FN. Neat conversion!
