Need to find a NRA Range Safety Officer

One of the organizing staff, in charge of arranging for the rifle shooting event, asked me to help out this next weekend (August 3 & 4) at Camp Frank Rand, Boy Scouts of America, in Chimayo, NM. This is a two-day camporee for the older boys, 14 and up, Varsity, Venture, and Explorer. He also told me that the regular Range Safety Officer (RSO) probably won't be there, and if he isn't, then the youth can't shoot .22s but will have to use BB guns. So, I decided to see if I could find a RSO to come and help out. I called one of the local ranges where I am a member (Del Norte Gun Club) and the training coodinator didn't know of anybody that I could call. I looked on the NRA website, and I could not find any names and numbers to call for help. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Any ideas how to find these folks? As for cost, it would be primarily volunteer. They would get three meals, however, and camping is free.

Notice I didn't pile onto your thread by making any comments about a beer.

Call the local council office. they should have a list of NRA/BSA certified RO. Call the NRA. Ask for the training division. They maintain a list of us. Yes I am a certified NRA RSO. Actually, I am a certified instructor.

I would be more than happy to help out but that is a bit far form Fort Worth!
