Got the Williams Arms bodycover/scope mount today when I came home from T-giving vacation. Sitting on my front porch, a box from Sister's Oregon!

Absolutely stunning execution!

The optic rail is absolutely straight fore/aft, and the M-1913 cuts parallel and true. I've attached/detached an optic several times, tightly, and see no wear marks. The finish is stunning, DEEP black, and uniform. Iron sights should work just fine w/ the optic removed. The rails are the real art: I placed the mount on a machinist's 'table' (?) and they are absolutely flat. Great job (I expected this perfection, but WAC deserves the feedback!)!

I haven't shot it yet to confirm RTZ, but I'm already VERY impressed. However, PERFORMANCE is the only real benchmark in which you folks are interested, so I'll wring it out next weekend and see what gives! That'll check the durability of the finish, and the RTZ factor.

When I saw the CAD/CAM funny, I thought the platform and oval slots high, but in reality they are quite nice. And the entire platform is more slender than either of my ARMS covers, and MUCH lighter! The trapezoidal cross-section is very nice, and really looks classy.

The cover did NOT slide onto my Hesse receiver tonight. I spoke w/ Dwight regarding this, and he admits that the Hesse receivers will require that minor fitment. Of all the various receivers, the Hesse is the one most likely to be too snug w/o relieveing the RH edge of the cover rail. I'll relieve the entry edge of the RH rail w/ a small file and that should do it. There is a bright nick on the 'leade' from using my hand to attempt the insertions, but I expected that. I made several attempts, and I'm sure that any patient shooter can feather the entry for a smooth tight fit on even a Hesse!

Great review of the Williams Arm Scope covers, Mine arrive in that nice white box with "Ol'e Glory" in the upper left conner also today! What a nicely executed design, the scope rail fits like a glove on my IMBEL!

Hmmm[personnel note] must buy more optics!

I rec'd mine today also from Williams, and I was darned impressed with the quality.

*Superb* machining and finish. Nice tight fit on my Imbels and E'Prises - equals my ARMS mounts in fit, and doesn't have that dopey tab on the back to restrict the bolt carrier. The ARMS has a slightly higher rail.

Two thumbs up from Gaspipe. I love this thing.

Uh, you're using an ARMS 4 for a Para, that's why there's a tab. It used to have a pin for the recoil springs of a Para 50.6X.

Both of the ARMS mounts for the FAL have the tab, Unkie Ted. Just no rod on the non-para model.

Odd indeed!

The ARMS rails are QUITE thin, spring loaded, and fit my Hesse just fine. The WAC rails, being integral to the assembly, are thicker. The rail cutouts in the various receivers are of different dimensions it appears! Therein lies the difficulty I observed.

All four receivers I tried mine on had varying degrees of 'tight.' None were loose! All are built into rifles, the original top covers have been on/off of them a few times, and that may have made the difference. The DSA was the tightest of mine, the Hesse/Izzy was the loosest, oddly enough. My IMBEL and Entreprise were both almost as tight as the DSA, which neeeded a few taps from a plastic mallet to seat in all of the way.

Anyone know if mounting some see through rings (similar to FAC's ring/scope mount) on the William's will still allow use of the iron sights. I would love to get a Williams but would still like to use the iron sight. Any suggestions of how to get this done is appreciated, or what the best scope mount is to retain the iron sights. Thanks

Reticle?

Where to purchase a 2.7?

Should be a "natural" mounted on the Williams!

The Kvant is *great* at low light levels. There are better optics out there for sure, but at low light, the big objective and the green illumination are fantastic. Clear and bright. Especially for $250. I hate the fact that I paid for a laser and a generic 30mm AK sidemount that are of no immediate use to me, but the dogs enjoy chasing the laser around. I have the 4x version. About 10.5" long, 3" wide at the windage and retical illuminator switch. The lense bells are 2.125". The compact length with the big lenses require a riser or tall rings so the lense bells clear the mount. That configuration requires a comb pad for me to get the right feel.

It lives on my ARMS [because it is a little lower] on my StG. I think I will get some medium height 30mm rings and eliminate the low rings and riser configuration to lower the overall profile and the cheek height a little. I'll post that when I get it reconfigured.

I wasn't aware there was a 2.7x.
