Sky Flakes Crackers
These are a great addition to one's survival food stocks.
Sky Flakes crackers come from M. Y. San Corp. in the Manila, Philippines. http://www.mysan.com.ph/brands.html http://www.globespanexports.com/my_san.html Note the variety of products available fron this company. They are shipped either in tins packed in bulk or tins with individually wrapped packs containing 3 three section crackers each. The tins with the individual wrapped packs are labled "Export" while the bulk packed tins have no notation on them. For best results in long term storage, I recommend the "Export" tins as they maintain flavor longer than the bulk pack tins. I have eaten these crackers out of the bulk packed tins after four years in storage and even given them to Philippinos who have confirmed that the flavor and texture remain unchanged. The Sky Flakes are also available in smaller sized packs as well as the tins. I suggest one purchase a small amount for taste testing. As for a review of these crackers: First one notices that the Sky Flakes Crackers are not filled with air pockets like saltines and they have a buttery taste to them. This is because they are NOT Soda type crackers. Their texture is more robust and satisfying. These crackers go with soup, chili, can fish, and any other food one would eat crackers or bread with. They are so good you will eat them alone. Asian stores usually carry the both the tins and other sized packages and one should be prepared to buy at least a case of tins ( 12 tins per case ) then ask if a quantity discount is available. Maybe that poisonous wheat gluten thing in the pet food a while back was just the test phase of some sinister Chinese conspiracy.... If crackers are next, maybe only Sky Flakes crackers will be safe. Time to stock up!
Seriously, I'm pretty sure I had some of these at an Asian wedding party once. They were quite tasty. |

They are the only cracker I will eat plain by themselves as a snack.
They are great with soup; and should someone in your survival group be unable to keep other foods down try these crackers.
