Question on izzy buttstocks....

are the butt plates between the heavy barrel and light barrel stocks interchangeable? I am considering adding the light barrel stock/handguard set to my l1a1, but would like the flip up butt plate that the heavy barrels have....Possible?

Heavy barrel stocks have a flip-up buttplate. The upper portion is notched for this purpose.

Way, WAY easier to use the HB stock - why not post a WTB/WTT ?
Now, if you were looking to trade the LB HGs for a set of HBs, I could help - no can do on the stocks, unfortunately.

Why? It is worth more than a HB.

Any Izzy stock is of the Metric pattern. So long as the lower on your Angry Beaver FAL is Metric, either an Izzy Light Barrel or Izzy Heavy Barrel buttstock will fit like a glove.

Sure you can notch any old wood buttstock you want, but where are you going to get all the notching specifications, then of course you'll need to buy all the hardware... rather than try to re-invent the wheel, it's much easier to simply buy the parts you want.

I put a HB buttstock on my Century L1A1. I tried the LB first, but there was not enough meat where it met the receiver because of the metal spacer required on a metric rifle. The HB stock did not have this metal piece. With some careful dremel work and some whittling I was able to closely match the contours of an L1A1 stock. This was necessary because I had an inch lower...It would have been easier to replace it with a metric lower, but I'm stubborn, and wasn't in any real hurry. It can be done with some patience.

Sounds like you may have an inch lower, in which case the Izzy stock will not fit without the work ronin mentions.
Not worth it, IMHO, but hey, whatever turns ya on ......
