FSE HTS NEWS

I bought 3 sets of fse hammer trigger sear sets marked with the (M)the(M) must stand for machine gun because thats what they do in both of my G1s & my stg58.

i was out on my rifle range sighting in my g1
shooting for a groop when...(pow,pow) wtf.
OK feild strip and have us a look see nope not bit of dirt or gunk just "marvle oil" (good stuff made for air tools)
put her back together must be just a fluke ?

three times over the next 40rds (pow, pow)damm
$157.58 for some more US. made shit that don't work. if i send them back it will cost me 20% plus shipping .

Yes all three sets are bad .
this is how too check unload rifle move safty
to fire pull and hold trigger down, then pull back and release the cocking handle,
now slowly let off the trigger and klick yep the hammer falls not the click of the sear resetting.

I wonder if Harrold will give my money back

FF,
The M on the hammer denotes the updated Metric hammer configuration, not machine gun. I am sure that if you contact Harold that he will make it right for you.
Regards,
Jim

FALFITTER,

Where did you buy the HTS set and how long ago? I am with you on the frustration. I know that Harold is a good guy as are most of the American manufacturers but its really annoying to get sub-standard, out of spec parts time after time. Admittedly, there are less sub-standard parts now then there used to be but its still frustrating.

Actually, if it weren't for the idiotic 922 B.S., we wouldn't have to worry about this nonsense! BTW, Harold did me right with my inch set that was doing the same thing!

I know the (M)stands for the newest production with hammers that won't break, they just don't work

I'm sure i will get flamed for this but i'm gonna do it anyway.

I am so sick of all the jirk water products on the market today thatDON'T FIT,
DON'T WORK,DON'T HOLD UP.
butt don't worry they'll give you another POS. to replace the last POS. that DON'T FIT,
DON'T WORK,DON'T HOLD UP,and evryone applauds them for it, well i won't.
i don't want another POS. i want a quality product. and if it costs a little more so be it. i just wish they would get it right.

ps. this works very well
for barreling a fal even on the tough ones

Not sure if it's a good idea to oil the sear engagemant point. I'll bet it doesn't double when it is dry. Give it a try.

You tried all three sets and got the same problem?

Well, in the unfortunate even that you are injured using these parts, atleast we can probably sue the US gov for a repeal by claiming 'wrongful death/injury' by forcing us to use unsafe US parts! Hey, just looking for a bright side..

take care,
Tec

FALFITTER, I agree with you on POS products. I purchased a ceramic heater for our bathroom at Walmart the other day. I thought I was getting a good deal: $16.88 with a 3 year warranty! I read the warranties fine print when I got home: "include check for $7.00 for postage and handling". OK, WTF, I pay $7.00 to ship it back, (should it turn out to be a POS), plus send them a check for $7.00 to cover their shipping and handling. I end up spending at least $14.00 to get my $16.88 heater fixed/replaced!
This is only 1 example, we get screwed on everthing we buy!

FALFITTER,

It is Monday morning, Nov. 26th, and I have just read the thread regarding your problem with my parts. I have not received your e-mail yet, so I have not been able to communicate with you directly.

I am assuming you purchased your product through RPB or MOSES, since they are the only ones who currently have them in stock. Federal Arms will have them as of today. Regardless of where you bought them from, I will take care of your problem.

I can do the following.

Send me your h/t/s sets with your G1 lower(s). I will inspect these for hammer follow (which seems to be the problem, based upon what you describe in your posting). I will repair (hammer follow usually indicates that the nose of the sear is too long or there may be a problem with the sear spring) or replace any parts as necessary to make them function properly and return ship to you at no cost. I will not know what the exact cause of the hammer follow is unless I can see the parts in your lower. If you have a complaint about the cost of shipping the parts to me, please indicate the amount of your shipping cost and I will reimburse you for that. When I receive your e-mail, I can give you full details for shipping.

OR

You can send me all of the FSE parts that you are unhappy with, with a copy of the invoice from the vendor you purchased them from, showing the total amount paid for this product($157.58 ?). Upon receipt, I will refund you the full amount you paid, including s&h costs. You can then purchase a h/t/s set(s) from DSA or other vendor of your choice. Please e-mail me if this is what you would rather do.

I can sense your frustration and anger. I offer no excuses. I just want to help you get you rifles working, OR give you your money back.

Best regards,

Harold Shinn/FSE

Out of all the posts I have seen regarding the FSE problems Harold always goes out of his way to make it right. I wish all companies operated like that.

Harold,
Thanks for responding, there are three lowers, two G1's and a STG 58. If I ship them to you to fix, how long would it take for me to get them back and would you guarantee your work???

Thank you for standing by your product.

I don't really need to get into this discussion (but that's never stopped me before! ) but I think you guys are spoiled. I can't think of another firearm where you can screw a barrel on a new receiver, drop in a hammer, sear, and trigger, mix all the numbered parts, and have the damn thing WORK without having all or most of the parts fitted by a gunsmith. Even the extractors on a 1911 are fitted.

A few weeks ago a friend and I built a couple G1's. Mine came right together (sure, a little lapping compound 'tween bolt carrier and receiver, but WTF). His, no so lucky. The joint hole for the joint pin wasn't machined properly. Fixed that. Then, the receiver catch (you know, where the frame lock is) was the wrong angle and the gun wouldn't stay locked together. Fixed that. I'm not even going to say who made the receiver. My point? This is NORMAL for most firearms.

I'm not saying that the next 10 (or 50) FAL kits that we here at the Files build won't fit like a glove, only that...well, some of youse guys should hang out at gunsmith's shop for a few days, and watch (and listen to) what goes on.

Y'all are sooooooooooo lucky!
