Dan at V.O.W. and Ironwood
Just thought I would try to bolster anyone's confidence who hasn't done business with Dan Richardson at Volunteer Ordnance Works. I have bought stuff he makes (folding cocking handles, L1A1-style fake muzzle brake thingies) and stuff he just sells (locking shoulders, Ironwood furniture sets) and he is a fine craftsman, an honest describer (it is late) and a very careful packager of his wares. He ships promptly when he gets the product, and if the product is going to be a while (problem with an outside supplier or something) he will let you know. Good stuff from a good guy.
Today the BBT brought two boxes, one from Dan and one from Williams. Dan's offering is an extremely nicely figured walnut stock set from Ironwood and an extra set of handguards he has had cut for bipods. The wood matches very well between pieces. He wrapped it in lots of paper and packed it in a new, heavy-duty cardboard box. No shipping dings or damage. These are sold as seconds but I will be darned if I can see anything wrong with them. Buy with confidence. Thanks, Dan! [ November 21, 2001: Message edited by: BUFF ]

See minor review at "WILLIAMS SCOPE MOUNT" thread. In a word, beautiful.

Buff, thanks, I do try, I don't always get everything right, I'm working on that though! Glad you like the stock set and extra hand guards, I had a hard time deciding. Have a great Thanksgiving, Dan.

I just want to second that about Dan at VOW. He is just "fine people" as we say in Texas. The man does not have a dishonest, malicious, or "scam you bone" in his body.
Dan endures tremenous pain everyday from his back, and added to that, some contractors messed him around in pouring a slab for his new shop. That sort of thing seems to happen to the nicest people. I would hope all Falcoholics will consider Dan @ VOW in their purchases. He, like most suppliers, is helping the Second Amendment by providing us with parts to build guns to justify having a Second Amendment. And as we on this Board know, there are some out there underserving of our custom and trust. Dan deserves both.

Yeah,.. Dan seems like good people,..and he really doesn't have to be,.. his stuff is so nice that people would buy it even if he was a jerk.

I have done business with on several occasions. I have been to his shop (before he moved) for a FAL kit build. Dan is hard working, courteous, kind, very helpful and someone you can trust. He is a good man to do business with. You will get what you pay for and in most cases, more. I cannot say enough good things about "Dan at VOW". Dan is more than someone I do business with, he is a friend.
