Fixing the metal ends of plastic HGs

I tried a few different searches, didn't really come up with anything soooo, I have a set of non-bipod cut HGs that have decent plastic but heavly dented/bent metal. They still mount to a rifle fine, but if I am about to refinish the plastic, I would like to do something to fix the metal up a bit. Any tricks? Ideas?

Thanks for looking!

I have always done it this way:

Use flat puches and a body hammer.
Place outside surface onto the anvil flat of the vice. ( work around the bolt holes )

Flatten out the dings from the inside.
Smooth over the outside with a ROLOC disc on your Die Grinder.
Beadblast and Park/Paint.

Rich, nice looking job. What paint did you use on handguards and buttstock?
