Yes, they were not military receivers though. They were made for Onyx (importer) by a company called Stuchner Brothers Limited- S.B.L. They are good quality and are preban so no need for US parts.

I don't know how many were imported, but this occured over only a three year period. So there are going to be way less than say, an IMBEL. The value? I have no clue, they are seldom if ever offered for sale as most of them are screwed to rifles. I can't imagine they are worth a huge amount more than any other quality receiver.

I know of one Izzy Military LW Fal that came in to the US via S. Africa just prior to the '89 ban. It is legit, I know from whence it came into the US and who has it. So as to the none, not really.

Not trying to show you up Windy, it's just that Air "Special Operations" from Hulbert Field go to some strange places and bring some strange toys back to the Panhandle on those AC130's at times. I have held it and looked it over. It's all original Izzy LW that was sent to the civvy market in S. Africa during the "times" when Israel and S. Africa had a very close relationship. There was even a semi R4 (Galil) brough back at the same time. That is something else you don't see over here complete. I don't know where it is anymore though.

I happen to have a HB Izzy Fal with the S.B.L. upper. I'm surprised to hear that it was made specifically for the civilian market. It has the star on it and the Hebrew markings. I was told that it was just a semi-auto version made on the same machinery as the full-auto Izzy Fals.

Not sure what machinery they were made on, but I am pretty sure they were made after Israel stopped large-scale production of their own FALs and were intended for US consumption- specifically Onyx, an importer.
