metal hand guards?
Is there any manufacturers of metal front handguards for the FAL's?
I have the plastic one on my metric and I have a versipod bipod mounted on it. It just does not feel sturdy enough. I hope this picture loads, this is what I have right now. [IMG] |

You should be counting your blessings.
They aren't called "handburners" for nuttin'. The Curse Of The Bipod. You seem to have side-stepped that. However they are very convenient after a shooting session to help prepare a hot meal. --Radio

You have a flimsy set of plastic handguards is why. Century. Worth what they cost, but of course they don't cost very much.
Get a set of IMBELs or Argentinian handguards if your parts count will allow it. Get a DSA or Penguin if it won't. Unless you have 7,302,459,183,480,034,716 magazines, bite the bullet and buy U.S. floorplates for them to make up for imported handguards in your parts count. If finnances prevent it, just buy 6 floorplates and put them on your range mags, saving your other mags for TEOTWAWKI. Nice looking rifle! Howzzit shoot?

Go with the DSA handguards. I have them on a number of my builds and have been very happy with them.
