I would think the rim would be a problem. Maybe not unsurmountable but a problem. The mags would have to be redesigned and the bolt face would get a little remodeling for the extractor. Might be able to use Bren mags? COL is a bit on the long side -in the 30-06 range.

I think that would be a lot better than a .243.

i looked into this one a while back,
IIRC the bolt face has to be opened too much, not enough metal left to suport the round unless you realy mod the bolt or make a new one, too much metal removed from the extractor IMO to be reliable. also the round is too long.. not saying it cant be done, but way too much work for me. |

zb 39 mag feeds 76254 better. getting a zb mag into a fal receiver would be a trick, as the length front to back is significantly greater. bolt thrust is also an issue, as the case head on 54 is larger diameter, and the pressure similar.

Also, you’re probably sane and will live significantly longer than I will. Nonetheless you disgust me, and I take comfort in the knowledge that your obituary will be nowhere near as humorous as mine. The next time I hear "THE RANGE IS NOW HOT", it just wont be the same. Max tried another question. "What sort of people live about here?" "In THAT direction," the Jin said, waving its right paw round, "lives a Han: And in THAT direction," waving the other paw, "lives a Ming Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad." "But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Max. "You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here." |
