Does Anybody Here Own an FNP Pistol?
I'm thinking of buying a slightly used FNP in .40 S&W for $350 and was just wondering about the quality of the pistol. I own 2 FN Shotguns. I think they are made by Winchester and they are really quality long guns. I don't know whether FN makes the FNP or farms them out. I have a Sig 229 and an H&K USP compact in .40 S&W and was wondering how the FNP stacks up. Any comments would be helpful.

personally, I'd suggest a plain old Hi-Power 9mm... easy, affordable, classic and you can get mags and parts easily enough...

Thanks Para, but I just can't abide with a 9mm pistol. Ask Adventurer-96.

You can get a HP in 40...
Personally for under $400 you can get a Witness. Get the steel frame, and you can get conversion kits to go to 9, 10, 40, 38 super, 45acp, and 22lr. And the CZ75 design just rocks. |

I am picking up my FMP compact 9mm from the FUN store today. I will let you know how I like it. FN makes them , thats what they do ! Make weapons man ! I saw / played with one of the compact versions about a month ago and fell in lust with it. Fit my hand like a glove. Sights easy to pick up , reviews were good on it, the quality FN name , whats not to like? The high power is long in the tooth . The only thing I dont like about the high power is the different trigger pull weight every time you pull the trigger , and you cant do anything about it.

The FNP series of pistols are made here in the U.S. plant, not in Herstal
I've had one and my son has one....I have no complains about the feel , accuracy, ease of takedown, anything...they are replacing the Belgian police forces older weapons like High Powers and SiG P225's and walther P5's and the like with FNP's its a darn good pistol. |

I have seen them at Bass pro shop.
Best prices I have seen are at http://www.tannerssportcenter.com/ Email or call them for stock and prices. I was amazed at what they had to offer. |

I have seen one in stock at a local shop Elk Castle, a couple of times(but in 9mm). I have seen them at Bass pro.
I am in FW Texas, not sure of your local or who might have one. Sorry that Ray couldn't help you. Good luck! |

I have an FNP in 9mm. I like it, but only bought it to feed an obsession
.It is a good shooter, lite in the hand, and has a replaceable insert that is either flat or rounded to make a better grip in your hand. It is two tone, black poly frame and a matte stainless finished slide. My only gripe is that although the magazines (three of them which was nice) are supposed to be 16 round capacity mags it is hard to get 15 rounds in 2 of them. Some day the springs may loosen up some, but I will keep shooting it. It is a little big for CCW but since I've also carried my Ruger Blackhawk and Springfield Hi-Cap fullsized 1911A1, it isn't all that big. All in all, although not my best or favorite, it works, it is fairly accurate, and I will keep it. |

I have the 40 HP and like it but not as much as my older 9mm HP. It will need some trigger work and a set of Micarta grips before it will suit me. Got mine from CDNN for $400ish.
