How does an L1A1 Flash hider attach?
I have an L1A1 flash hider and when I looked down it has no threads. It looks like it use some type of keyway. Is there more than one type?

It should be threaded, unless someone goobered it. 9/16"-24" RH. Give it a twist (RH) and see what happens. The "lug" you described retains a washer thats pinned in place to keep it from rotating.

The threads are a ways inside ,can't see them at the end of the FH.Stick a bent paperclip in and you can feel them.9/16-24 RH,like the man said.

L1A1 flash Hiders also require a timing washer. Should hand tighten to 5:00 and torque to 6:00. They come in various thicknesses at .0035 difference.
Found one stuck in Mine. Got it out with a bore brush. |
