Thumbs down Mounting Solutions Plus

Okay, here it goes. I ordered on line from these people. Mounting Solutions Plus
They charged my CC immediately and emailed that the part would ship Tuesday 16 Jan. Then Wednesday I get an email saying they were out and expecting the part Friday. Friday they emailed and said they were expecting the part "sometime next week" . This wouldn't both me except they have already charged my CC and I don't have the funds to cancel my order with them and go else where. Bad business practrice on their part by charging my card when the part isn't in stock and they don't know when (or if) they will get it in.

WOW,

That too bad. I have ordered 3-4 times from them with no problems at all.

My complaint is, if they didn't have the part, why did they charge my CC. Now I'm stuck. If I cancel my order, how long will it take to get my funds back.
If I contest this with my CC company, how long will my fund be unavailable.
If I let it ride and wait for the part, how long will I be getting emails saying "Sometime next week".

I'll never order from these people again, that's for sure.

Its probably a glitch with there online software and with Shot they probably sold everything. They are a good company, call and talk with Ned I am sure they will do right by you.

It's too late! They've had all week to correct this and have done nothing. My CC was charged on the 15th and said they would ship it on the 16th. They send me an email on the 16th saying they're out but will have them "End of the week" and the 19th saying "Some time Next week".
This is the first time I've dealt with them and it will be my LAST. I'll also recommend AGAINST using them. Would you deal with this company again if they did the same to you?
If they would have told me they were out 'BEFORE' they charged my card, I could have had a DSA mount already delivered.

I'm waiting for the next 2 emails saying "Sometime the end of this week" and "Sometime next week". SHOT show is no excuse for BAD business practices.

I have never appreciated folks who pull this crooked practice and nobody will ever tell me that it is an accident.

I had a motel or two pull this stunt in the 1990s. I also say they know or should have known not to charge your card before knowing their inventory. I agree with you....This is outrageous!! And it is not an accident or oversight. Someone knew exactly what they were doing! It keeps you pinned down while they order something that they should have had in stock or told you.

Thanks for the heads up...I will never deal with them as long as there is anywhere else!

Ehhh... I know that some vendors subcontract charging and billing to third parties (I don't know if MSP does this because I've never ordered anything from them) and that MAY be why your card was charged right away. HOWEVER, MSP should have offered you the choice of an immediate refund on the backordered item. Sht happens and if their supplier is jerking them around (SHOT time tends to screw up schedules) that explains why you're being jerked around. Have you actually told them that you want to cancel the order and to credit your card back?

No! If I cancel, how long will it take to get the funds back? 2 weeks maybe? If I contest it with my CC company I know for a fact it will take 2 weeks to return the funds. I could (and should) just go ahead and cancel this order and place an order with DSA ($50.00 cheaper BTW) and have the scope mount by the end of this week. This isn't the point I'm trying to make. My gripe is they charged my CC before they told me they were out of the item I wanted. You can't blame this on a glitch in software or a third party. There were people there to take care of this on Monday (15 Jan). I received an email from them on Monday saying it would be shipped Tuesday (16 Jan). Tues. I get one saying they were out of that mount and would have it by "the end of the week". No offer of a refund, no offer of any kind. Friday (19 Jan) I get an email (only because I ask for a status on my order) saying "the item should be here sometime next week".

I agree that they should charge your card only when they're ready to ship the item. If that happened to me (and it has but not by MSP), I'd be mad too (and I was).
BUT!
Crediting a card doesn't take two weeks. Maybe more like a day or two. As fast as a card can be charged is as fast as a card can be credited (presuming that they don't drag their heels).
SO!
CALL them, tell them that you're unhappy and why, and what you'd like done.
Then let us know what their response was.
In any case, I understand why you're peeved. They definitely could have handled this better.

They should not charge you if they don't have the part in stock. They are wrong for doing that. They should of asked if you wanted to wait or get a refund. They are wrong for not doing that too.
You are wrong for not calling and telling them you want to cancel and asking how long it takes to credit your card back. I can credit a card back in minutes, although it takes banks 24 to 48 hours to let it go through. No way should it take two weeks. Call them and get your money back.

This gets even better and better.

I emailed Mounting Solutions this morning around 10:30 CST and cancelled my order. I'm in a hurry getting ready for work. Shouldn't be a problem as they don't have the mount instock anyway, right?

WRONG!!

When I get home tonight (12 midnight) I have another email from them, sent @ 3:15pm this afternoon saying "We found a mount, your UPS tracking # is ************** and it's on the way to you" The email was a reply to the CANCELLATION email I had sent this morning.

After cancelling this order, I went to DSA and ordered their Para, scope mount for $108.00, thinking the Mounting Solution thing was over with.

Now I'll have either a A.R.M.S. FAL #4 mount or a DSA Para, Scope mount to sell in the very near future.

I'll NEVER EVER deal with Mounting Solutions ever again!!!!! I'll recommend NO BODY deal with these people because they don't know what the H**L their doing!!

Did you call and order from DSA and confirm they have the mount in stock? I emailed them last week and they replied that the para mounts were out of stock till the end of february which inreal time is more then likely june.

Utterly unsat. Thank you for the heads-up. I've been looking around to pick up a mount and I will definitely steer clear of MSC after these shenanigans.

Not true. I will repeat! They knew exactly what they were doing!

By their reckoning, they figured that they would hold on to your money until their order came in, thereby preventing you going elsewhere.

Wasn't even acceptable in 1960, but today it is worse because there are so many sources that they should assume that you would choose to order elsewhere.

when the MSP order comes in, just refuse it.

this is complete bull$hit.

do a chargeback with your cc company.

you should get a temporary credit on your account during the dispute period.
