I finally dove in
well it finally arrived, after debating and lurcking around here I went ahead and bought a used stg-58 DSA and when I say "used" it is because someone did own it before me. Other than that I could not find a mark on it. these Austrian 58's are awesome. I am told this was an all belgian contract rifle kit. any way to tell? anyway I recommend them to anybody wanting one.
bought it from a guy on ar15.com and am I very pleased. it also came with 9 new mags and 3 dual mag pouches and a hard case. ![]()

Congratulations...
It's a beauty... What is the original serial number (not for the DSA receiver, but the rifle itself)? Belgian guns run until slightly over 20,000... Have you put any rounds through it yet? Forrest |

Great looking DSA. Good choice too.
If you plan to shoot much, get a pair of DSA's synthetic handguards. They are a lot more user friendly. Especially after a magazine or two. The bipods are tricky to get consistent shots off from. I would remove the pound of weight and keep it with the original handguards for "formal" occasions. The rifle will handle much, much better. |

Yes, they are the sellers pics.
I saved them when I bought the rifle. they are good pics, I cant get mine this good with my camera. natural sunlight is the answer. I wasn't trying to fool anybody. I told the seller I was very happy and he was given good feedback. here are some I just took. my camera washed the colors. ![]()

there is no such thing as a "few" rounds with an FAL. You are going to shoot a minimum of 100 rounds each time you take it out. You will not be able to help yourself.
I have had two "case" days where I went thru over a 1000 rounds. I have only owned the rifle for 13 months now. |

Try Ironwood if you are interested in wood furniture. Not cheap though.
Ironwood DSA was importing some European wood furniture, but apparently no loner does. It was less expensive than Ironwood. Ironwood is U.S. made and counts for the 922r regulations. |

well I hit the range today, I ran about 50 rounds thru the DSA.
I started with the gas bleed open half way using argentine surplus. I was able to group 4.5 inches with the open sights and I also was able to open the bleed all the way with no cycle probles at all. brought three guns in all so 50 was all she got. it was a fun shoot the DSA is very nice! |

I just got a DSA STG58A too. Merry Christmas to me. I have yet to run any rounds through it. Snow storm after snow storm here is getting a little old.
My first FAL barrel #47094 lower #39755 waiting for the snow to melt is killing me! |
