Receiver Wrench Question

I did a search but didn't find what I need. I bought an AGI FN/FAL receiver wrench. Does this wrench work on every type of FAL receiver? I know it says it's for both metric and inch patterns, however I have seen receiver blocks advertised as Type 2. I don't know if this means that is the second one they designed or if it's for Type II receivers. Does the Type II receiver need a special receiver wrench?

Thanks

It will work on all.......if it works on one!!

The types don't change that area of the receiver, mostly difference is in lightening cuts and stuff like that.

Hope that helps.

The 1st generation DCI receivers have a squared off area on the bottom of the receiver. Some wrenches may require a bit of filing to allow them to be used on those receivers. It should work on the rest though. Usually three or four wraps around the receiver with black plastic electrical tape will help "fit" the receiver better in to the wrench prior to assembly.

Someone used to sell a "Type 1" wrench that was of the usual configuration - attach it to the receiver, and turn with a breaker bar or similar. the "Type II" had a large flange so that it could be bolted to a bench.

That said, most wrenches will fit all receivers, metric and inch. With the large variation in receiver suppliers, always check the fit closely. For example, the wrenches that I make need a little filing in one spot to better fit Entreprise inch receivers.

Last one.
