How to remove rear sight stop pin...?

Does the hole for the rear sight stop pin go all the way through to the bottom so it can be punched out? I am fixing to mount a scope and if the rear sight has to be removed I would like it to be able to slide back on quickly and plan on leaving this pin out if I can figure out how to remove it.

Thanks for any help!

It removes easily.

Take off the rear sight and the pin pushes out with your fingernail. It is held in place by being against the block it rests on.

And that is darned good idea!!!
I "had" to take the rear sight off of one rifle/scope combo and did not like having the redundant sight system in place.

Try a folder. Get the corresponding height foresight pin.

FWIW- the original backsight is set at a pretty good eye relief distance. Your optic should not overhang the backsight by too much anyway.

Bruce, Thanks for the tip. It did almost fall out once the sight base was slid out of the dovetail. Now the rear sight can be slid on and off easily with optics change and the rear sight setting is uneffected. Not sure how my mount, rings, scope will end up till I try them.

Too bad no one has made a trapdoor pistol grip for storing such items. I may just have to make one or at least a foam filler with space for the sight to lay in.
