Help- Fail to Fire with STG

very happy with my new STG but every now and then when i pull the trigger nothing happens. no hammer drop , nothing. after pulling the trigger a number of times it will fire as normal. when this happens, the trigger pull feels normal, but doesnt feel like it travels all the way back. anyone else had this happen?

couple of things to check;

1) Either the trigger return is not resetting the back edge of the sear shelf.
( common with light return springs ) And accidently installing the trigger return spring in the sear.

2) the front of the hammer strut/plunger is bound up in the hammer pocket.
( common with some US parts )

Could also be the hammer dragging on the locking plate, not that those are ever bashed up or anything. If the hammer is an old century version, they had the strut pocket in the hammer off by a lot causing it to go over center and holding the hammer down.

Here is a thread for completely going-over your fire-control system.

(Apologies for my attempts at humor throughout)
