Aussie SLR

Thanks to Matt and Eric at Blackwell Industries I finally have an Aussie SLR.
Built on a DSA Type 2 receiver,cut for an inch FSE charging handle and all the other 922 compliance parts. The kit was a SLR-5000 kit with a really nice barrel. I kept the coachwood furniture which turned out really nice.

Thanks for looking.

Very sweet!!!!! I love Aussie L1A1's. I have one built on a GL Imbel that is my baby.

I have a DSA type 2 that I bought for a R1 build, but lately I've been thinking more and more about getting an Aussie kit and have another L1A1. If only Pat would only resurface from whence he has disappeared to. hehe

But seriously, a beautiful rifle bro.

Nice rifle, and rover! I noticed the Nags Head plate....I love it down there, especially Hatteras.

I was stationed in Hawaii with the 25th Inf Div back in the early 80's. Got a chance to go to Oz for a couple of months to train with some Aussie troops (at Halsworthy Barracks outside Sydney, I think we were) Anyway, saw and fired my first FAL/SLR and have wanted one ever since. Found enough parts to make this decent clone (have since replaced the GI sling!)

Like I said earlier, a beautiful rifle. But I'm with Tiblow. I'm sure the rest of us Aussie/Brit gearheads would love to see some more shots of the Land Rover.

Thanks,

1stSSPZ, that'a a fine looking rifle.
bvstephens, I did the samething, I had a R1 built on an Imbel, now I'm trying to decide to paint or not to paint.
Old Dominion, I lived on the Outer Banks for 20 years and saw a lot of change, for the worse . My parents still live there, and I try not to vist during the summer months, too much traffic. Hopefully Hatteras and Ocracoke will not get too built up.
Dirtyrice, I thought about the L1A1 receiver, but I didn't want to worry with inch mags.

Here's more pics of the Land Rover, it's a 24V FFR 1974 Series 3 Lightweight;

The really cool part is the SLR brackets

Lastly, my son and I alway hope for a good snow in the winter.
