T48 Handguard Liner

For the truly nutty FN collector...


This is a comparison between the handguard liners for the light- and heavy-barrel T48s.

The next photo is from the top. Notice that the HB is wider.

This is from the front of the liners. Through these holes pass the handguard retaining screw.

The light barrel is on the left, HB on the right.

Notice that the LB is a clean curve, and the HB has a peak.

Now, both will fit into a LB handguard. The HB liner is wider but not so much that it cannot be sqeezed into the handguard.

The top tabs and retaining screw holes line up for both on a LB handguard, though in the HB liner being squeezed to fit the holes are ever so slightly out of alignment- but you can get the screw through by slightly enlarging the holes.
