Install Gas Block and Port on Virgin DSA Bbl
I'm looking at DSA's G1 kit deal, which includes a new US bbl for $84.
How hard is it to WECSOG the installation of the block on a barrel without the Gas Port already drilled? I have searched the archives, but didn't find anything on the gas port question. I have easy access to a drill press, but more advanced tools might be probelmatical. TIA! Tom |

Just from my experiences, building a dozen or so FALs, and removing + installing 3 gas blocks, I'd say your biggest problem will be drilling the pin holes, having them centred w/ respect to TDC. Drilling the gas port is rather straight forward, since the StG block offers a "template" for the gas port under teh front sight. When drilling the gas port, make sure you start by drilling a few 1000ths too small, then work up to final diameter slowly, stops you from having hangers on the inside (they shoot out, but not a great idea).
