Question Dumb Question about Metric/Inch Bolt Carriers.

Are they interchangeable?

I have 2 Metric Rifles. I was wondering if I can slip an L1A1 Carrier into one, while using the same Metric Bolt (so I don't have to screw with headspacing).

Personally, I like the sand-cuts in the L1A1 carriers. The idea of "clearing sand and debris out of the action" makes sense to me.

If the L1A1 carrier wont' fit in a metric, why hasn't someone got their ass in gear and made a Metric Carrier with Sand Cuts?

*eh hem* DSA!!! *Cough, Cough..*

Yes, that'll work.
We all like a little tacticool bling.
I even ended up with one of GPG's hard chromed sand cut carriers.

If I use the same Metric bolt, will I still have to worry about headspacing when it comes to the new Inch Carrier properly "Camming" the old bolt into battery?

No.

Because the operative term is "in battery", and since you haven't changed that, yer good to go.

Swapping carriers from metric to inch will change no more than changing from, say, Steyr to IMBEL. Timing of the camming action *may* be slightly different; but probably more from differing wear and disparate plants than actual design differences.
Never noticed anything od in any of my swaps!

They have.. FN made them towards the end of production. They are fairly rare and the last one I had I sold for $125 with the matching number bolt
