Online Ammo Sources a Beginner's List
Here is a list of Online sources to find ammo at. This list is coutesy of dwalexk on the Frugal Forums.
http://rkba.rmkhome.com/ammo.html May I also suggest these sites be added, Ammunition To Go http://ammunitiontogo.com/catalog/index.php KY Imports Inc.http://www.kyimports.com/ The Hunting Shack (HSM ammo)http://www.thehuntingshack.com/catal...ail/index.html Military Gun Supply http://www.militarygunsupply.com/sho...asp?catid=AMMO Surplus Ammo http://surplusammo.com/ Ammo Bank http://www.ammobank.com/discount.html There are many more sites I have found but, these plus the list above are a great start. Not all of the sites are the lowest price but in the interest of providing a cross section of sources at which almost every calibre available can be found, it would serve a useful purpose to know where to look.

For some reason Century Arms was not included, so here's a link:

It would be very helpful if a "Sticky" could be posted which would be a alphabetical list of Online ammo sources with their links so anyone could quickly search for a given calibre or other information on ammo they may be seeking.

Beginner's List?
More like: BEGINNERS BEWARE!!! ******************************* "I didn't know ammunitiontogo is the same as military gun supply.... 2 links in the list posted to the same place." ******************************* I immediately noticed the same thing. Double the exposure of every other vendor listed. Ah yes...the power of suggestion. Well, at least the idea of alphabetical order seems fair and impartial. OH WAIT!! That would place 'that company' at the top of the list. An inadvertent oversight? I think not. Why not have a list with the cheapest prices at the top? Then 'that company' would be at the bottom of the list....where it belongs. You know, it's the especially transparent scams that I find to be tediously boring. And tawdry.

Fix the MGS url. I removed it because it does indeed point to another company and not to MGS.
And, there's no need to troll.. for once he's actually posted something somewhat useful, even if not all inclusive and containing errors and ommissions. |

It was operator error that I posted ammo to go's link for Military Gun Supply.
I have corrected my error. It is sad indeed that America has reached the point of cynicium that it has. This is not a complaint about Oswald2001's comment but rather about America no longer being a nation where we try to help one another without a selfish motive so much of the time. When have I ever asked for anything in return for any offer of help I have given? Let that be your guide ! While posting this thread I was putting together a 6 party sale of weapons and ammunition FOR NO Charge - as in FREE for all parties. "I Love It When A Plan Comes Together" Every deal I help put together is another tiny bit of aid I can give to keep America the land of the free.

I think that part of the problem, 411man, is your haphazard approach to presenting information, coupled with a somewhat know-it-all attitude...
For example, you start out on this thread (after your frugal link) by mentioning a couple of vendors, and only a couple of vendors... One of the ones you mention just happens to be a place many already suspect you have some relationship with (Ammo to Go), and another mistaken link also led there (and I'm not trying to say that you meant to do that, because I suspect that it really was an error on your part. But, then again, you make a lot of errors...) What bothers me most about this particular thread is that you manage to avoid mentioning what are probably the largest sellers of surplus ammo in the nation, especially in terms of ammo that most of us here are probably interested in... I'm thinking of Century International Arms AIM Surplus The Ammuntion Store J&G Sales which have already been mentioned by others. I also don't see SOG mentioned... Yes, some are mentioned in the frugal link, but the link alone is somewhat like burying the info... For what it's worth... Forrest |

ftierson, if you read my thread you will see that the sources/venders you mention are included on the list I refer to.
The 6 additions I listed were NOT included on that list so, as I stated in my thread, I added them so as to offer an even more complete source guide. As for Sportsman's Guide, it too is on the list from dwalexk. I posted the link for the list in reply to the complaints that my posts are often to long and it was suggested here that I use more links and let the members/readers take a look for themselves . I was only attempting to make use of a useful suggestion. Once again I am bringing information for the express purpose of assisting those who seeking ways to more quickly access the knowledge they need. Please note I am doing so for FREE. I have a request, please find some other attack method to use than the threadbare wornout B.S. that I work for or am employed in the Shooting or Ammunition Industries.

Part of the problem is you continually post the most blatantly obvious information as something of a find. Even the most cursory scan of the different forums on the Files would tell you that this isn't a board full of of mall ninjas and heavy 6 types. As someone else noticed, you omitted the vendors that probaly do more business with the milsuprp crowd than all the other sites you mentioned, combined. Coupeled with your 'I've noticed something that no one else seems to have picked up on' attitude, and it's no wonder you get flamed left and right. Keep up the good work, I need the recreation.

How many times do I have to bring to the attention of some members here?
If you think the 20,000 + members along with the countless readers are COMPLETE and PERFECT in their knowledge of all things FAL, Ammo, etc. then all I can say is, enjoy your delusions of grandure.

your efforts to do us all a favor would have been more effective if you just copied the links in the frugal post and added your own to it here to make it the comprehensive list.
If you feel the need to give credit to frugal, you could have done it as a footnote at the bottom of the post. You are such an idiot, that when you claim to be doing things for us that we can't do ourselves, then screw it up, you insult us all. cynicium . . . GEEZ! You are the dolt of dolts. You are like our own little Rain Man, except instead of saying "K-Mart Sucks, 5 minutes to Wapner, Quantas never crashed," you go around saying "The ammo sky is falling, allow me to search the internet for you as you are not capable of doing it yourself" Please go away. You are dangerous to the self-reliance of our entire community. Imagine if people came to depend on YOU for their information instead of just doing their own SIMPLE research . . . The thought of you being a voice of authority on any topic here concerns me deeply.

I have a feeling that you failed to read mine... First, I acknowledged that your link to frugal mentioned most of the suppliers that I mentioned, but I stated that using a link for that part, by itself, wasn't a particularily good way to do it... Where you came up with Sportsman's Guide is anybody's guess, since I certainly didn't mention them (but, having said that, I probably should have...)... Your posts are not too long because of the info that you present. They are often too long because of all the 'pat-myself-on-the-back' crap that accompanies the 'info'... I do note that you are providing something that most of us didn't ask for, for FREE... This just demonstrates, once again, that you get what you pay for... Although my intention wasn't to attack you at all, I certainly don't think (for several reasons that I won't mention right now) that you work for Ammo To Go. I just said that many here think that you do from your previous posts... Perhaps your response to my post explains some things... Good luck. Forrest |

I stand corrected on my substituing Sportsman's Guide for your reference to SOG, ftierson.
Due to the length of the list I posted about I do feel that the space savings was necessary. If I was going to incorporate my additions to the list I would have done as you suggested. My reason for noting my additions separately was to preserve the credit for the bulk of the sources listed to dwalexk. It seemed the right thing to do. Some of my coments were of a general nature and not specific to you reply. Sorry I did not make that clear. I disaggree that my originating post on this thread included a pat on my back. I can find no reason why an alphabetical list of online ammo sources would be anything other than a good tool for anyone to use for several reasons. I use my extensive list everyday almost. I do not consider your original reply an attack. My reference to the threadbare and wornout claim I work for this or that ammo source so often mentioned was one of the general nature replies I made without clearly identifing them as such. In this case as in others of late, I have posted information of a useful and helpful nature to shooters in general from others than myself. My intent is clear, to help not to take credit for any great find. Many comments have made it clear that most people just do not have the time to do a lot of research, that is why such a list as the one I posted about should prove to be a big help. I do read and consider all suggestions and even complaints for any value they may contain. Thanks for your suggestions I will consider them.

BroncoMafia, I agree totally with you that people should not depend on me to do their research. It was with that in mind that I posted the link to the list of sources by dwalexk.
I am 100% certain that anyone can use the dwalexk's list to do their own information seeking. It seemed appropriate and necessary to note the source in the body of my thread to ensure proper credit and immediate recognition for the information went to dwalexk not myself. Let me note that every single one of my efforts to bring information has been the result of facts, information, and expertise from other sources who I have refered to and even quoted. In short I have not claimed to be an expert of any kind; rather, as my name implies, I have sought to relay and spread information from others with the occasional addition items from my own searches where applicable.

He even posted this on the rifle-company site, right below their sticky of the cheapest ammo on the net. Stick to helping your friends and "associates." Surf more porn. Go watch "Star Trek." Play some D&D.

Just knowing someone still visits frugal's, makes me suspicious. That's a tree with root rot.
I personally have bookmarked well over two dozen places to find ammo on the net. But hey thanks for your five sites.

Hey kowboygunsmith, nice impression you've made with your first post!! Congratulations, most members take awhile to rub others the wrong way. There is a long running "pissing contest" as you put about the "information" provided by 411man regards ammo availability....perhaps you should have read more than just this posting before insulting others. Just my opinion of course.

HA! I believe that first impressions are important. And I felt that pissing on some toes might just be a good joke to start out with.
I did read the entire post. Because I was trying to find a good source for ammo purchases online. So how did i post my first message in the wrong place? And i did find that the list 411 man provided was a (no sh*t sherlock) list. Does anybody have some better sources to help me feed my new beast? |

This is what i was talking about
i first read this thread looking for cheap ammo. I was very new to this site and i thought that it might help me. So far i have found a wealth of information and i just love having it all at my finger tips.
my first post still stands. why is it that this cant turn back into a list of sources for cheap ammo? and hey dwalexk if your list really did help somebody why are you so mad? cant you just be above the pissing? You are too weak to turn the other cheek. all of you need to either find a new thread to piss on or help me find some cheap f*cking ammo. thanks.

If you're talking about me attacking you dwalexk, you're wrong, oops you're bad.
My first post here attacked Frugal Squirrel NOT you. That got your panties in a bunch, and you went off on a hissy fit. There now the facts are out there.
