R1 and more
kit built R1 and Egyptian FN49
1922 Mosin Nagant and K31 Ruger M77 and Marlin 336 The FAL is a South African kit built on an Imbel Type III, with RA numbers on the bolt and carrier. I had the pleasure of assembling all the parts except for fitting the barrel to the receiver. The original stocks were drenched in the nasty Rhodesian colors. Unfortunately, the FN49 is missing the original brass buttplate, as Bubba got to it before I did. Aside from that and the aftermarket flash hider, it's in excellent shape, and shoots like a champ. For $475, I can't complain too loudly. The Mosin is a 1922 Izhevsk. It has a Tula marked cocking piece, but the rest is original and all matching. The K31's stock is beat to hell, but the metal is in awesome shape. Both regularly accompany me on range outings. My dad scored the Ruger in 7mm Remington Magnum for $100 from one of his ex-employees, who subsequently realized the error he made and asked for it back. Good ol' dad said "I don't think so.:". He has a bad shoulder, and can't shoot it, so, in a de facto way, it's mine. My grandpa gave me the Marlin. Thankfully, it does not have the annoying crossbolt safety. Even if it did, it was free. Enjoy, and thanks to the Files or I wouldn't have half of these guns. (contribution will be inbound soon.)

Thanks. So do I.
![]() For those wondering the compliance parts on the R1 are an FSE hts set, Penguin butt stock and pistol grip, Tapco gas piston, and US floorplates. |

Hey, I may have a brass Enfield buttplate and screws- they will fit it. Let me check and I'll PM you back. You can have them if you want them. LAFAL

Lovely set of rifles you got there, 101.
I have two more R1 kits. One has a wood butt stock and the other plastic. Both will be left as I received them (unrefinished) and the one with the plastic stock will be painted in the Rhodesian camo scheme. I can hardly wait to slap that nasty crap on there.
