Building on the cheap
I bought one of W11's 99.50 kits for a beater/truck gun. I'm not even interested in sanding off the number 22 on the butt stock, I think it adds character.
My question is what is the cheapest way to build it, I'm considering using a mag floor plate and follower and I won't consider a Hesse reciever. Ideas? |

I am trying to do it cheap but want it to look nice too. (yea right). I am most likly going with the 179 dollar entiprise type III that would make for a real decrease in the finial product. Cut the threads off the end of barrel, get a Penquin tapco stock (20 bucks) cheap CIA USA pistal grip and a 21 buck gas piston from FAC.
Sounds as cheap as I can get it. Ross

The Entreprise type 3 is one of your best bets right now. I just built one on a G1 kit and everything worked out great. The receiver required no fitting. In fact, I ordered another receiver just for my Imbel kit. I figured that while they're on sale, might as well.
Also, if you're interested, Tapco has the US furniture set for $49. Not a bad deal. |

I'm getting one together for a present for a good friend. It's going to be a learning process for me. My recipe is the $179 Entreprise receiver, $99 dollar Imbel kit (to my surprise, it was a Type III lower, first one I've seen), Tapco $49 stock set (I think I paid less during a sale), FSE H/T/S $53 from Moses, and an Enterprise zero climb I got from a board member for $12. If I can manage to get it together myself, it will cost less than $400. Not too bad.

Careful with the FAC gas piston. Make certain it's not a Century product which has a questionable reputation for sturdiness.
