Just which US parts are needed exactly?
I'm trying to assemble the parts needed to build up an Imbel receiver. I ordered the Imbel rifle kit as well. What needs to be replaced with US parts? I intend to get the DSA open buttstock, their floating handguards, and the HTS parts and gas piston. Do I need to replace the selector switch (DSA says I have to) and does the muzzle device count as a US part? Lastly do the handguards count as 1 or 2 parts? I searched the FAQ but couldn't find this answer.

So far with the parts you have listed you have a total of 6. The hand guards only count as one. There is no need to replace the selector, it is not required, or it would count as a US part. if you plan on using a muzzle device (you can't use the original as it is a flash hider, grenade launcher, bayonet lug, thus it is EVIL), you can demill it. Demilling consists of reducing or enlarging the outer diameter, thus defeating the ability to attch the readily available rifle grenades sold at every local convenience store. The lug for the bayonet also needs to be removed and the holes in the device need to be drilled so that they come out straight instead of at an angle. Or you could purchase the fake one from Gunplumber or RPB, looks like the original, just doesn't function. Once you permanently attach said muzzle device to the barrel it becomes part of the barrel. HTH, though I know part of it is clear as mud, that is how the Alphabet agencies insure job security. Dan.
